new years eve

From her flat window she could see the fireworks between the gap of 2 houses. Mainly big chrysanthemums and whiz poppers, they were amazing and truly fun to watch, especially from the comfort of a nice warm flat with a cup of tea. There were no other distractions apart from the new years fireworks on the TV, which were even more spectacular and brightly coloured, the music rocked too.

She found it amazing looking at the TV, everyone in London was using their phones to film the show, when just, how can you film an atmosphere like that, she thought. Obviously remembering would be a stretch to some. She also sang to herself when ‘old lags one’ came on, and everyone joined in and joined hands in merriment of the old year gone and a new one starting.

Staring out now into the darkness of the street she could still see some fireworks sparkling in the windows of the houses opposite, the reflection reminded her not to look back to the past but to look forward to the new one.
